The Disability Integration Act (S.910, H.R.2472), introduced by Senator Schumer (D-NY), is federal legislation intended to ensure that people with disabilities can live in the community rather than be forced into nursing facilities and other institutions. This ground-breaking civil rights legislation requires public entities and Long Term Service and Supports insurance providers to change their policies, provide community-based services first, and offer HCBS to people currently in institutions.
It is important to show widespread support for this legislation. Please add your organization’s name to the list of Disability Integration Act supporters.
